Founded in September of 2018, Paxos Standard is a fiat-collateralized stablecoin. Since its launch Paxos has become one of the most quickly and widely adopted cryptocurrency, with support from six of the tope ten cryptocurrency exchanges. Paxos Standard tokens (PAX) are issued as ERC-20 tokens on the Ethereum blockchain and is the first stablecoin able to prove that it is is fully collateralized, with each PAX token pegged 1:1 to the US dollar through Paxos-owned US dollar reserves. Paxos is the first virtual currency company to receive a charter from the New York State Department of Financial Services. As a chartered limited purpose trust company with fiduciary powers under the Banking Law, Paxos is able to offer regulated services in the crypto-asset and virtual commodities space.
