With the genesis of Terra 2.0 and block production of the new Terra blockchain underway, LUNA held prior to the Terra 2.0 migration on the original Terra blockchain (henceforth referred to as Terra Classic) is now referred to as LUNC moving forward.
Terra is a blockchain platform designed for algorithmic stablecoins that aims to repair an inefficient payments industry. The platform, which uses fiat-pegged stablecoins to power price-stable global payments systems, helped usher in a new era of stablecoin adoption in Asia. Terra's native token, LUNA, is used to stabilize the price of the protocol's stablecoins. LUNA holders are also able to submit and vote on governance proposals.
