SAND is the ERC20 utility token of The Sandbox ecosystem that is used as a medium of exchange, governance, and staking on the blockchain gaming platform.
The Sandbox is a fully decentralized, Ethereum-based virtual world that allows players to build, own, and monetize their own gaming experience. The platform combines the creative freedom of games like Minecraft and Roblox with the disruptive potential of decentralized autonomous organizations (DAOs) and NFTs to create the Play-to-Earn revolution that is changing the gaming industry.
The Sandbox ecosystem is comprised of three integrated products that facilitate the production of User-Generated Content that keeps the platform entirely community-driven. These include VoxEdit, Marketplace, and Game Maker, which allow users to easily create, sell and play their own Sandbox digital assets.
